Implemented a modular system for style guides, ensuring consistency and cutting document creation time by 40%.
Situation
At the time of launch, many products either had outdated guidelines or lacked them altogether. Therefore, there was a need to create comprehensive user-focused documentation for upcoming products nearing release, enabling the sales team to commence their marketing efforts effectively.
Achievements
Managed a team of two, including graphic designers and a lighting designer, to develop a modular system for mutually updatable documents intended for external use.
Collaborated with the sales team to identify the lighting specification process. Based on industry standards and user experience, we developed the structure for the system guide.
Objective
Develop and upgraded 15+ system guides and spec sheets.
Create a modular system for inter-updatable chapters in guides, allowing the same documents to be updated across different books.
This enables information to be revised in the main source and automatically propagated to all related documents. As a result, the need for manual updates to each document is eliminated, reducing time and minimizing human error in the process.
